4th cont' to babybeebugHow in the world do you split up and maginalise the New Testament and say it is only about love. What are you talking about? I have been reading both testaments and listening to sermons galore and anything to learn and know the truth and the NEw Testament is as well balanced with truth, love and justice as much as anything found anywhere in the scripture. May I remind you that Rev says that Jesus comes back and judges the damned. In virtually every book there is warning.

We've isolated all of the sincere believers who cross themselves and participate in Lent. What's wrong with running (Eric Liddel did it) OR labyrinths OR doing flip flops OR...? It merely serves as a physical expression of submission and worship like Communion does. Since when is it not about our intention? Does God just judge and not read the heart on such occasions? I miss when people talked about how great the love of God is like all the authors did in the New Testament. We've wondered far.

I have never heard of Roger Oakland before but he is awesome! I watched his video about the New Wine movement as well. I am glad this guy is preaching.

I'm mixed still on this emerging church thing. On one hand, I think the Bible is full of fresh revelations of God and applying God to current cultures. The body of Christ IS worldwide and in ways transcends culture. But on the other hand there are truths that will stand forever and don't need to be altered/ twisted. Truth doesn't change because God doesn't change- He's always current- we change, our perspectives change.

let us first realize that the opening passages he cites could just as easily apply to himself as those he is preaching against. second, i do not believe that the "new faith" spoken of by Pagitt is a faith other than that in Christ, but rather new methodologies and a rexamining of why we believe what we do, still with the Bible clearly in hand. i will have to write more in a comment, or several.

We thank the Lord for Roger and brothers as himself which still hare speaking the unwavering truth of the bible. When you get a chance, read the book. It's an excellent expose on the lies and deception that the Emerging church is promoting.

You need to do your homework. I would suggest starting with reading "Pagan Christianity." Next read what Willow Creek has recently said about how MATURE Christians are leaving that church in order to be MORE faithful. If you think that sitting in an audience once a week listening to the same speaker year after year is what Jesus came to make us do, you are very confused on what Christianity is about.

Good going Roger. It is good that there are people in US who teach truth. I live in Finland and we have same problems here, and new teachings have caused big problems in churches. God bless ya.

Roger Oakland teaches the truth, knowing he will not be popular, but hes a God pleaser not a person pleaser, keeping telling it the way it is. Godbless you brother Oakland |
