Perhaps you are right, but young as I am, I will stubbornly deny it:) I try to still believe in people and their conscience and 'goodness' and that people decide themselves. I might be an idealist, but i like the world better that way.

The advertisers have realized the meaning of life: to produce life, so having sex. From the time we are born grew up to adults and finally died, our target as Froyd said, is to have sex and to have kids. Advertisers have the word sex in their advertisements because it is the thing that any person in their whole life wants, so they hide the word sex subliminaly in their ads making us wantint the product like we want sex, cos sex is the thing we want most until we die. Unfortunately this is true.

I think the key is to get your attention. The point of advertising is to get you to pay attention, and in that moment, you might try it. If they never got your attention in the first place, they don't have you. A person could decide before they ever left home to buy a product, but the idea is for them to want to buy/try the product or service after seeing the ad, and getting them to look at the ad is triggered by a certain picture or word that they associate with pleasure.

*Continued*It also produces a sense of self reward, so consequently, its quite common for people to go to McDonalds after work, school etc because it creates an artificial feel good factor, but realistically, who feels good after eating a McDonalds? It just makes you feel sluggish and depressed.

Also, in McDonalds they have foods such as burgers come in packaging. By doing this they are creating the idea that what youre buying is a gift, so idealistically, when you unwrap the food, youre subconsciously reminded of the favourable childhood memory of opening gifs on Christmas day [thats the link with why they give toys in happy meals too].
